Black Bag Family Healthcare operates as a Direct Primary Care practice. It’s a new approach to medicine. So, how is it different?

FEWER PATIENTS
Most family docs in Tennessee routinely include 3,500 patients or more in their practices. Others around the country are even more packed- 4,000 to 5,000 patients! With Black Bag Family Healthcare, you’ll be part of a devoted family practice consisting of around only 700 patients per provider. This means that we can spend more time with you when you need us. The average Family Practice physician spends about 8 minutes with each patient. With Black Bag Family Healthcare, the Doc will spend as long as needed to listen, explain, and treat your problem. With this innovative model, the advantages are clear and abundant.

Here at Black Bag Family Healthcare, our pricing system is very straightforward – something to which you’re probably not accustomed.

Membership fees are based on a yearly contract unless the patient moves out of the service area.
Two Member plans are for two individuals in the same houshold.
Family plans start at $150 for up to 4 members, with +$10/child/month for over 4 members.

Literally. After hours, weekends, holidays, etc. We understand illnesses and injuries don’t just occur during standard business hours. There is no cost to members to see or talk with your doctor.
Extended, relaxed visits.
You won’t feel rushed through an appointment, and there’s never a question you won’t have time to ask. Part of the relationship you’ll build with your doctor is based on your understanding of your care. Now that’s what we call personal healthcare.
Same-day and next-day scheduling.
ecause our physician has reserved his time for a select few, there will be no “squeezing you in.” You’re a priority, and you’ll feel like one.
House calls.
The Doctor will come to your house or office, if located in the service area, for acute appointments for an additional fee.
Full access via technology.
You’ll be able to reach our team and other medical information via webcam, e-mail, text and more.
Discounted labs and medications.
We pass along our wholesale pricing for your labs and medication costs. You’ll pay the same rate we do and save lots of money.
An annual physical.
This exam will be fitted to your personal medical needs. It’s all about you, and your specific goals for wellness.
Diagnostic, procedural & other benefits at no additional cost.
Your medical team at Black Bag offers a variety of additional services included in your membership. Examples include….

Meet Our Staff
BLACK BAG FAMILY HEALTHCARE
Our Primary Treating Physician is Dr. Dustin Clark, a graduate of University of Kentucky School of Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at ETSU Johnson City Family Medicine program, where he served as chief resident in his last year.
The practice is also supported by Physician Assistant Melanie Harrison. She is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University with a BS in Chemistry and Biology, and also South University with a MS in Physician Assistant Studies. Her experience includes urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, and surgical procedures.
Black Bag also benefits from Dr. Scott Denham, a former Emergency Medicine Doctor who studied at The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Dr. Denham completed a residency in General Surgery at ETSU Quillen with additional training in Emergency Medicine.
Additional clinic staff include Lisa Kees RN, Brian Cable LPN, Jackie Church, Lora Cable, and Lauren Clark.
Black Bag Family Healthcare, was founded in Johnson City, Tennessee, by Dr. Dustin Clark and his wife Lauren Clark in 2014. In Fall of 2021, the Clarks also took on Dr. Robert Berry’s practice in Greeneville, TN, rebranding it as Veritas Family Healthcare.
